Beef Shish Kebab

Unfortunately the Kebab wouldn't fit into the pan so I had to undo it. Marinated overnight in olive oil and garlic and served on a bed of pasta rice with spinach, toasted almonds, raisins and peppers. Normally this is served with some kind of spicy sauce but with the pasta rice it wasn't necessary.
Really good.

Me again Jim. I notice that you posted this 45 minutes ago. It is now 11.40 am in Ireland and I think you are about 6 hours behind us. Are you up at the crack of dawn?

Pasta rice is also known as Orzo. It is a rice shaped pasta and is great with just about anything. It can also be dressed up with a huge variety of vegetables, peppers and the like.
It is normal for me to be up at this hour. I usually go to bed about 6 am or so. Today it was seven because of a good film 'The Reader'.

Hi Jim. Just had a comment typed and deleted it by accident. I logged in to look at the recipe for the rhubarb chutney. All ready to do it now. Will let you know if I make a mess of it. I haven't any sherry vinegar but probably balsamic will do the trick.
I have seen rice pasta, but it looked bigger than yours. I guess it comes in a variety of sizes, depending on the maker. Have never used it, but it looks good.
Lucky you who has the energy to stay up all night watching films. Obviously old age has not crept up on you yet. I hope Dudley's biological clock coincides with yours. I can imagine him demanding walkies when you are conked out!!!

The rhubarb chutney turned out great. Got 2 jam-jars full. Gave 1 to Shane and Barbara who just happened to come in when the chutney had cooled. Will make some more soon.
Thanks for the recipe Jim.

I'm glad the chutney turned out. I have quite a few recipes for chutney. The can be tricky to make, not enough of this or too little of that and it is ruined. You must have the knack. I will post a chutney that I did a while ago. It was really good.
