Why don't we do a competition of dishes done by individual members of the family and submitted to a special section of the Food Blog. We could run it for a month and or so and then have a secret ballot by email and announce a winner. Seeing as we can't taste we would judge on presentation, originality, use of fresh products etc etc. All that can be worked out. The winner would receive a diploma posted on the blog. Let me know who would be in favor of this. No pressure just your every day efforts. I think it would be fun. Let me know what you all think. Whoever wins would be the Ard Cocaire which I think is top chef in Gaelic. If my memory serves me well.

yes this is seachtain na Gaeilge
Well, put my name down as a judge, as I am not of the cooking kind, just the eating kind, this is a good idea, an on line version of "Come Dine With Me". Do you have this show in the States? By the way, it was Lukes Confirmation last saturday, and Anita did your honey chicken wings..delicious!
i'll be part of that sounds like fun but i have to warn yis I'm very competitive when it come down to me dinners haha
put my name down as winner ;)
Yes i would love that.. No Curry's Graham.
I'm in anyway great idea.
can I join too?
If the response is good and enough people want to participate I will put together a program and a few rules and we can start.
I know we can have some excellent cooks in the family who take great pride in their work and rightly so.
It should be a fun thing where there is a little competition of course. In the end the winners will be voted on by their peers. No pictures will be on the web until all are in and it is time to judge. The pictures can be emailed here so that at a given time I will post them all and we can vote. I think it should be great fun.
Also, that is how you get ideas for your cooking.
So if you are interested in participating then sign up. It is open to all the family: husband and wives. We have 3 already Graham/Carolyn/Rita
Happy days, put my name on the list!!!
is it a 3 course or just one meal, like take your pick????
I was all in favor of this until I saw Rita's photo, now I'm not so sure, but I guess i'm in.
Rita's photo was done for a gathering and she did a very good job. This would be and indivudual plate that you would do. Completely different and much more difficult to present.
I think I have six people now. I will leave this up for another week. We need at least ten to make it interesting.
Remember this is a family thing and not top chef. Whatever you do someone will learn from it and so will you.
I'm in..
Although I think it would be best to do it Iron Chef style.... These are your ingredients, make what you want.
Phyllis, it will be a one dish and there will be a choice of ingredients and a cost. Very pro, you know.
